Questionaire

1. Name, phone #, and e-mail: Nah, nevermind. I know this already...

2. What’s your major? What year will you graduate? I am a photography major and plan to graduate with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in Photography in Spring 2013.

3. Why did you choose a photography class (or photography as a major), and what do you hope to learn from school in general and this class specifically?  I chose photography as a major because it is my passion and what I want to do later on in life. I hope to learn a better understanding of light room and photoshop from this class.

4. What are your goals after graduation? Please list your goals in reverse order, starting five years out, then three, two, one, and six months.In five years Five years after I graduate I hope to be starting a future with a boyfriend/husband. In three years from now I hope to be settled in a house and still traveling. Two years after I graduate and find my dream job I hope to spend the year traveling with different mission teams around the world, photographing their experience. In six months to a year after I graduate I plan on looking for my first apartment and applying for jobs in a big city somewhere but not dallas...

 5. What artists, musicians, photographers, writers, movies, books have influenced you/your work? Mary Ellen Mark and Margaret Bourke White both inspire me. First, becuase they were both successful women photographers and secondly, because they photograph the human condition in black and white, which is what I love and prefer. I am also inspired by the lyrics of Christian music artist JJ Heller and the creator of TOMS shoes Blake Mycoskie.

6. Where do you get information about current national and international events? I receive most news from the internet.

7. Are there any important websites that you are referencing for art/photo competitions and/or information? there is not a certain page i refer to often but i do often look at the work of other photographers.

8. What museums and/or galleries have you been to in the past year? I have visited Fotofest in Houston, Dallas Museum of Fine Arts and other various galleries in the Dallas area. 

9. Have you had any photo projects and/ or training in the past? Yes, I spent 2 years at Kilgore College and have taken 7 different photography classes under O. Rufus Lovett.

10. What is the value of art for the artist? Photography is very valuable to me, it's the way I view life. 

11. What is the value of art for the audience? The audience finds value in the experience of art, walking away with a new perspective on life.

12. Is photography a vocation or an avocation? For myself I think photography started out as an avocation but i hope one day it will turn into a vocation.

13. What is your passion? My passions are both traveling and photography.

14.What are you afraid of? What makes you uncomfortable? I am afraid of hurting peoples feelings and new surroundings make me uncomfortable.

15. Do you have a passport? My current passport has expired; however, I plan to renew it soon.
